Line of Events

Follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Series writer and creator James Gunn appears in the opening titles with a laptop typing a script.

Featured in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The Return of the (Hill) King (2023). I’ve always loved the DC Universe and while I think the DCEU was overrated, I’ve been very disappointed with several DCEU projects.

This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative

I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and television have become too generic, he’s spot on. There have been so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new movie come out they don’t go to the theater because they think “another superhero movie, geez there’s way too many of them” since it’s just a generic action movie (especially the sequels).

I think James Gunn is really going to change things up and I can’t wait

I also think that because Marvel has been so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by fans) and I think if everything in DC works out in the next couple of years then the lesser known characters will be able to do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really have a special feeling to them. But yeah, it was a good start and I see things getting better from here.
